I’m back . . . I hope!

Going in for the kiss (also known as sharing his slobber)

Just a brief update about my absence, for those who are curious —  It’s been a long month!  Our internet connection stopped working completely and we’ve had a sick little new guy at home.  He eats every two hours, then has to sit upright for another half hour.  As you can imagine, we aren’t getting any sleep!  Regardless of that fact, we are in love with him and still fight over who gets to hold him.  He gained three pounds his first month home, so we are doing something right (four pounds to seven.)  My other little man is a little jealous and a lot needy, so we’ve been spending most of our time outside enjoying the last of the summer weather and the beginning of the fall harvest and colors.  It was actually hot enough for him to have a little pool for a whole week!  lol  Besides spending lots of time chasing, tickling and giggling, his attention span has extended to the point that we’ve been tracking caterpillers and watching them climb to make cocoons, then sharing our amazement as they turn into hundreds of butterflies on the puddles (it’s been cool and rainy here).  He fell in love with his Auntie when she came to visit.  He thought she was the greatest thing since sliced bread and we thought it was adorable (of course.)  The pets are keeping us supplied with numerous mice on a daily basis and the pups are being especially demanding about their daily run.  I think they know the colder weather means the snow will be here soon.  Or maybe the fact that the ducks are gone from our pond and the geese are flying overhead everyday now is their clue!   The internet folks finally showed up at our house and adjusted our antenna and computer settings, so hopefully we will continue to be able to log on for a while and I’ll start posting regularly again on the nights when it’s my turn to sleep.
