Camera Critters

We are lucky to have, as part of our family, one of the sweetest cats to ever walk this earth.  Her name is Nyx and she is a huge tabby  —  not just fat, but long.  I showed her on the couch so you’d get an idea of her girth.   I’ve talked about her in the past.  She’s one of the kittens that showed up on our porch in an awful storm and invited herself into our life.  She’s made herself very much at home and eats the cat’s food, the dog’s food and any mousey morsels she can find.  (She’s the best mouser in the family!)

As you can tell by looking at her, this diet has expanded her waistline a bit.  The good thing about that is that she’s too slow to chase all of our beautiful birds!  And that’s a good thing.  It’s also very nice for this adorable little scamp to snuggle up with you while you are reading or sleeping.  She is very serious about her purring duties and you KNOW you are well loved when she honors you with her presence.

Isn’t she the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?

Misty is our lovely host for Camera Critters each week.  Stop on by to visit other critter lovers or to share your critter stories.

  1. She sure does look like a sweetie! We have the evilest cat to ever walk the earth. Darth Mittens is more than happy to beat on the dog, kids and hubby when the mood strikes her.

  2. Just love animals sleeping so funny. Strange and looks unconfortable but that’s cats for you. Great shots

  3. Those photos are great! I love the funny positions animals will sleep in. Great shots! Beautiful cat.

  4. I am always amazed by animals who are so open and vulnerable when they sleep. They know they are safe.

  5. What an inviting belly ! Arthur my white cat sleeps like this too !

  6. Aren’t cats great (we have dogs and cats)… I love to see the different positions they get in to sleep.

(P.S. regarding my daughter playing with and leaving the puppies.. she knows that is they way it is. We have 2 dogs and 4 cats, at home, and I can’t take on anymore! She has a good time, and it’s fun to play with different breeds. I wish she were old enough to volunteer to play with the puppies!)
