Yellow on Marmite

Photo Hunt

This is Marmite. As you can see there is a colorful label and it has yellow on it. Marmite resembles chocolate, but it DOES NOT taste like chocolate. It’s a modified yeast product that you spread on bread and crackers, or use in cooking. Wubby grew up eating Marmite, and it has been a life saver for our little man. He can have it on his special bread and crackers and doesn’t even realize that he is not having peanut butter and jelly. We, of course, realize that he is not having peanut butter and jelly, on completely nutritionless Wonderbread (helps build strong bodies 12 ways!) Our policy, up to this point, has been that we don’t eat what he can’t eat when we are eating together. That’s not been very good for us because we end up eating after he’s in bed. Bad habit. But, we’ve recently had some good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and boy were they good!

  1. That stuff looks interesting. It must be hard to not eat when he’s up. I don’t think I could do that.

  2. I was introduced to this spread when in Australia 20 some years ago. I must say, it is probably an acquired taste, because it wasn’t something I enjoyed. I ate peanut butter and jelly and my friend thought that most bizarre, but her kids like the new food in introduced to them.

  3. I’ve never tried Marmite!

  4. I’ve never tried it 🙂
